DIVERSE URBAN/SUBURBAN NETWORK

Since its inception in 1985, RYASAP has worked to mitigate the risk factors involved in substance abuse and has utilized a model of maximum youth and adult involvement.

RYASAP's diverse urban/suburban network involves more than 1500 youth and adult volunteers working together on its governing board, its committees, and in school and community initiatives. On its governing board, the Coordinating Committee, are:

  • municipal officials
  • public school superintendents
  • police chiefs
  • business and legislative leaders
  • health care professionals
  • treatment agencies
  • clergy
  • community representatives
  • youth
  • state officials
  • area colleges
