WHAT IS THE YOUTH COMMITTEE?

The RYASAP Youth Committee is a youth-run substance abuse prevention group comprised of 50 young people representing the thirteen public, private and parochial high schools in greater Bridgeport, Connecticut.

The Youth Committee has three voting seats on the Coordinating Committee (our Board of Directors) and two voting seats on our Exectuive Committee (finance and personnel decisions).

Over the past twelve years, members of the RYASAP Youth Committee have been involved in designing and running community service projects which educate others and help voice the concerns of young people in the community.

YOUTH COMMITTEE LEADERSHIP

Every June, the members of the Youth Committee elect three young people to be their leadership for the following school year. These three students will represent the Youth Committee as voting members of the RYASAP Coordinating Committee (Board of Directors) and the Executive Committee.

This year, the RYASAP Youth Committee is being led by:

  • Chairperson: Carrie Kline, Central Magnet High School
  • Vice-chairperson: Meryl Rosten, Fairfield High School
  • Secretary: Sara Mastrony, Fairfield High School
